Ok, so I'm not out to save the world, but if you're
reading this, I hope somehow I positively affect
your life.
I guess I just figure there's enough pain in this world that if I've got a bottle of
pain reliever, it would be good to share it. I have pain. I've had it and bear
it now. But I've found a strength and a joy in the middle of it all that
somehow makes me want to just continue living and loving others, despite
the pain. That's why this site is here - just in case your emotional Advil's run
out, I'd like to offer some peace and some meds to heal the pain.
The song, "Life!" was written for a teen suicide prevention concert. I pray all
who hear it choose life.

I don't think there are many people in this generation who
haven't been affected by suicide and the pain and suffering
it brings. A century ago, most people had to deal with their pain and
sorrow, their family's pain and sorrow and their friend's pains and sorrows.
Today, due to the information highway and the wonderful positive
information (please note my sarcasm) constantly portrayed by the news and
modern media, people are overloaded with pain and sorrow. They have it
thrown at them constantly from every angle. The result is an entire
generation that is trying to find an escape from the very real hell they're
living in. I've known more than one person who lives for the escape of a
drink or drugs - or to make it to the next video game or soap or sitcom -
their escape.
The damage to the soul is at the cell level. A few cells decided to go their
own way - but no one caught just how deadly that "way" really was until it
was so bad, the body was near death. Those cells multiplied and brought
on the cancer of immorality. (Yes, immorality! 1+1=2, 1+1 does NOT = 3 -
and to believe otherwise IS a LIE (not a perception) and chooses death!
There IS a right and a wrong!) This cancer is so deadly, some have lost all
hope.
But there is a Hiding Place from the pains and heart-breaking sorrows of
life - and it's not in Nintendo, drugs, TV, food or anything else. It's a place
many don't want to go to, because it means facing our pains and sorrows
and hells and realize that everything we want, love and cherish is bound to
die. It's temporary and meaningless without Love. To find this hiding place
you have to be willing to allow LIFE to come in and restore what's been
broken, lost and destroyed. It's a place of soul-searching, brutal honesty
with self, when you realize that even the GOOD you thought you'd done was
far less than enough.
But when you get to that place, if you're willing to look, there's a Man there
waiting for you, waiting to take your hand and walk with you through the
storms and hells of life. See, He's been there before you - for you, so He
could go with you. Sound crazy? Not as crazy as taking a life before it's
time - whether fetal or grown.
God doesn't change anymore than math does. If you've gotten into the
deadly lie of "no rights or wrong" - balance your checkbook on 1+1=3 and
any other incorrect figures you like and see how well your accounts survive.
Don't play games with God; His love for us is so strong He sent His Son to
die for us and to be resurrected again so we can live forever in Joy and
Hope and Love with Him. But God's passion is for righteousness, because
anything less causes sorrow, pain and death - and He HATES to see us
hurt and die. But we are created in His image. We are eternal beings, just
like He is. He is not going to stop being holy and loving and right for
anyone, because no matter what my child wants to think, fire - though great
for heat and cooking - isn't too be touched or played with. Lawlessness is
deception and a lie. It wouldn't matter WHAT God changed to - if He were
that kind of God, which He's not - for you. Sin would still want to go a
different way. So WE have to CHANGE for HIM. And the ONLY way that's
going to happen is through accepting Christ Jesus' death on the cross,
admitting our sins and turning from them and simply believing that HE
(Christ) is the sacrifice for our sins. HE died for us. Now He offers you a
more wonderful life than you could ever imagine in Him, but it no more
comes from a one time chat with Him then apple trees come from a one
time watering of an apple seed. You've got to choose to follow Him and
believe Him for the long haul, dear one. It's a hard road, yes. Painful at
times and definitely difficult, but full of joy and peace and life and
satisfaction none-the-less. And I hate to tell you this, beloved, but it's a LOT
easier and less painful than NOT going His way.
Jesus Christ said this: "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself
and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For
what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his
soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Matt.16:24-26)
The song, "Life!" comes from One who knew what it was like to have
everyone hate His guts. The song comes from One who knew more
sorrow, pain and suffering than you or I will ever know. He carried our guilt,
sorrow and pain at the cross. The song, "LIFE!" is God's heart cry for you
to CHOOSE LIFE.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping
may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5
He knows. He died so we could live. He rose so we could know His LIFE.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am
come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly. John 10:10 So, please, all of heaven will rejoice over you,
choose LIFE!
Jesus saith unto him, I am THE Way, THE Truth, and THE LIFE! No
man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6
